Those who read the scriptures at daily and Sunday liturgies are invited to and answer a special call to share the "Word of the Lord" with all in the assembly. Each reader is generally scheduled every six weeks or so and is usually assigned for one Mass time. All are trained and participate in an annual evening reflection.
