Our Lady of Hope Church has been part of a very special ministry over the past fifteen years. After a Confirmation class found a service project very fulfilling, they brought it to the parish level. The Sandwich Ministry was founded by Uncle Pete Zonsius at St. John Brebeauf. Our parish has adopted this ministry three times a year, in February, June and October. Lunch bags are distributed to parishioners and are returned the following week filled with sandwiches and other lunch items. The bags, along with other supplies, are delivered to schools, homes and shelters and to homeless people on the streets of Chicago. There are approximately 33 parishes that take part in this ministry by collecting lunches or making sandwiches. Together, we have answered God's call to feed the hungry.
