Religious Education

Classes are generally held on the first, second and third Tuesday of each month during the school year. Sessions run from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There are many people involved in this ministry. The catechists plan lessons, meet in teams and continue to build their own spirituality by attending formation and workshops. Classroom helpers assist the catechist and disciples. Office helpers, door monitors, hall monitors, room parents, a volunteer coordinator and the families involved all play a part in this program. All volunteers over the age of 18 must complete Virtus Training and a criminal background check is done through the Archdiocesan Office for the Protection of Children.

Sacramental Preparation Programs

Families of children preparing to receive a sacrament come together as a group one Sunday a month for Liturgy and formation sessions. Religious Ed classes build on the preparation program. A catechist plans sessions with the Coordinator of Religious Education. The program length depends on the sacrament. A team of catechists presents the sessions.
